About the Hoover Self Propelled WindTunnel Ultra Upright
(Model Hoover U6430-900 / U6439-900)
Self-propelled going forward and backward, the powerful 1440-watt Hoover
u6430/9 vacuum
takes much of the effort out of cleaning both bare floors and carpets,
with a 15-inch cleaning path and three adjustable nozzle heights to
accommodate variation in carpet depth. Also features a toe-controlled
brush roll for cleaning bare floors and a powered hand tool for stairs and
upholstery.
The vacuum employs Hoover's most advanced computer designed suction
technology and U6439 even provides feedback on cleaning progress with the
Embedded Dirt Finder -a feature that scans the floor for debris, signaling you
if there’s still dirt to be picked up and a helpful indicator signal keeps you
posted on the bag’s status.
The vacuum comes handsomely equipped for attachment cleaning with a stretch
hose, two extension wands, a crevice tool, an upholstery tool, and a dusting
brush all on board. The most rigorous attachment is a powered hand tool with its
own rotating brushroll -great for carpeted stairs and durable upholstery. Other
useful elements include quick-release cord hooks, a carrying handle, a headlight
to illuminate the 15-inch cleaning swath, and a view window over the brush roll
Add a washable antiallergen filter to return clean air to the room,
another washable filter to protect the motor. A HEPA filter assists the bag,
trapping 100 percent of dust mites and 99.98 percent of ragweed and common grass
pollens.

"I never expected to use "love" and "vacuum cleaner" in the same
sentence - but I really love this one. I have wall to wall carpeting, and it
had looked horrendous - yet I couldn't bear the thought of again struggling to
vacuum. (I'd push with all my might, huffing and puffing, just to get about 6
inches - at which point I'd have to get down on the floor, pull the dog hairs
out of the vacuum cleaner, throw them away, and start again.) I wanted an
upright, so gave this a try. WOW! It literally zooms across that very same
carpet, with virtually no effort on my part. It performs perfectly. Consumer
Reports gave this its second-highest rating for an upright; the first went to a

"I had a bad history with vacuums. My cleaning routine
is admittedly sporadic, but I have decidedly rigid standards of clean, and I
could never seem to find a vacuum that worked to my satisfactions.
When it came time to buy another vacuum, I did as much research as I could, and
the Hoover WindTunnel was what I finally decided on. After I used it the first
time, I did a little dance right in the middle of my front hall. Seriously. A
get-down, hip-wiggling, booty-shaking fit right there. Ask my sister, she saw
me.
This baby cleans like no other vacuum I've ever used in my entire life! I've
used it on my hardwood floors, my oriental carpets, my outdoor/indoor
recreational flooring, my carpeted stairs, my bathroom tile floors, and I have
yet to find cause for complaint. I could feel the difference in my entry-way
carpet when I walked over it in my bare feet.
The lights are so bright that I can see everything under the edges of my kitchen
and bathroom counters and know when I need to go after something with one of the
tool attachments. The settings let me clean so many different surfaces, and I
love the fact that I can use this instead of a broom on my hardwood floors.
